How do I make up my credit builder payment?

There are several ways make up your missed credit builder payments. Unfortunately, Sunrise Banks is not able to accept payment with a card or over the phone.

If you do not have a Sunrise Banks deposit account, add your external account first

Pay through online banking

If you have not done so, first you will need to enroll in online banking. Online Banking Enrollment Guide

If you do not have a checking or savings account with Sunrise Banks, first you will need to add your account that you have at another financial institution. Please see instructions for adding an external account below this section.

  1. In the Sunrise Banks app, click on "Menu", next click on "Transfers & Payments", then click on "Make a Loan Payment".
  2. Select the account you want to pay from under "From", select your loan you want to pay under "To", select your "Payment Type", and enter the "Amount" for your missed payment.
  3. Click on "Submit" to finish making up your Credit Builder payment.

Do NOT select "Make this recurring". Your payments are automatic and as long as there are enough funds in your account, the next payment will be taken out automatically as usual.

Add External Account

To do this, please follow the steps in the video or in the instructions below.

Sunrise Banks has created a minute long video on how to add an external account (an account from a different financial institution). To watch the video, please click the link below. Then you will see a list of videos on the right side, scroll down to the 5th video called "Add & Verify External Accounts".

  1. In the Sunrise Banks app, click on "Menu", next click on "Transfers & Payments", then click on "Add External Account".
  2. You will see instructions for the rest of the process for adding your external account. 
  3. After submitting your account number and routing number you will need to check your account for the two verifying deposits, which can take up to 5 business days. 
  4. Once you see deposits, you will need to verify your external account. In the Sunrise Banks app, click on "Menu", next click on "Transfers & Payments", then click on "Verify External Account".
  5. Select the account you want to verify, then enter the amounts of the two deposits, and click continue. You have now successfully added your external account so you can make loan payments.
